Aamir Khan starrer Hindi film ‘3 Idiots’ has maintained its position in the top 10 of the British box office in week two after eclipsing Hollywood’s ‘Avatar’ in Christmas viewing charts.
The total overseas box office taking for the film so far is a record-breaking $10 million.In Britain, ‘3 Idiots’ has grossed more than 1.115 million pounds ($1.8 million), and as the number one movie on Christmas Day, out-grossing ‘Avatar’, producers Reliance BIG Pictures told.
The movie is Britain’s highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2009 and now the highest grossing Indian movie ever to release in the US, beating the takings of ‘Om Shanti Om’.
